Welcome to the 2010 Season of the International Music Institute Leipzig!  (June 13th - June 28th)

 

We hope you’ll join us in experiencing all the musical tradition found in Leipzig, Germany. This summer’s classical brass symposium promises to be one of the premiere experiences for any brass player seeking an intensive chamber music, orchestral, and personal musical experience. Study with musicians from Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Leipzig Opera, St. Thomas Church, and Leipzig Baroque Ensemble. Immerse yourself in a style of playing unique to Germany and a rich tradition of orchestral and brass excellence. Revel in the beautiful concert halls and performance spaces available to you during the institute.

Performance opportunities and venues include the St. Thomas Church, Mendelssohn-haus, Stelzen Festival, and more. You will be performing in spaces that served as inspiration to some of classical music’s most prolific composers such as J.S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Johannes Brahms, and more. See orchestral tradition and excellence hundreds of years in the making up close. Study with internationally known and respected musicians.

In addition to the musical experience on receives at the International Music Institute of Leipzig, you will also receive a valuable cultural experience. Home to numerous automobile makers, churches, architecture, and more Leipzig offers something for everyone. The IMIL 2010 is a summer classical music institute for college students and young professionals who play trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, and Tuba. Brass ensemble, solo & orchestra master class instruction will be given by top musicians of Germany's orchestral playing scene. Come join us two intensive weeks of instruction in the heart of Germany for an experience of a life time.  - RM
